Sponsored by the Greater Pickens, Clemson, and Easley Chambers, Leadership Pickens County is designed to help develop informed and committed leaders for Pickens County. By taking an intensive look at local issues, LPC prepares and motivates participants to provide dynamic leadership within the community. Facilitated by the Leadership Pickens County Board of Regents, the annual program begins with an orientation session in August and follows with nine monthly full-day sessions, most on the first Tuesday of the month. These sessions include a combination of guest speakers, tours of facilities and interactive activities centered around topics such as leadership skills, education, state/local government, communications, community service, healthcare, economic development, business/industry and recreation/tourism in order to inform and enlighten participants on issues and concerns facing Pickens County. By blending participants from the public and private sector, new working relationships and networking opportunities are fostered. The program year concludes with the completion of a class project and a graduation ceremony. Leadership Pickens County is open to anyone who lives or works in Pickens County. Persons interested in the program may apply directly or be nominated by an employer, member of the Chamber, or other individuals and organizations.
